Homemade Hami Melon Frappuccino

The Hami melon is a type of muskmelon, originally from Hami, Xinjiang province in China and can be obtained worldwide. I am not a big fan of Hami melon but it’s said that the melon this year is particularly sweet because it has been dry and hot in Xinjiang this year, criteria for better quality produce. I tried one then couldn’t help buying more for days. They are very sweet and the fragrant is rich, even after mixing with shaved ice.

This is a quick summer drink, only takes a few minutes to prepare. What you need are Hami melon, ice cubes and some thick yogurt. The proportion is 3 portions of Hami melon and 3 portions of ice cubes with 1 portion yogurt.

How to do –
1. Layer several spoons of yogurt at the glass bottom. I am using this thick Greek yogurt, rich and mildly sweet;

2. Ice cubes shaved, placed on top of the yogurt;

3. Blend half portion of Hami melon smoothly and the other half roughly, pour on top of the shaved ice. If the Hami melon isn’t sweet enough, sweeten with a little syrup when blending.
